Default What our EQ2 cousins think of GW2

I have Google Alerts scouring teh intarwebs for any news on the GW2 beta. It dropped this on my lap this morning. Looks like some EQ2 players are foaming at the mouth almost as much as we are.

Yeah, I've met a few EQ2 peeps recently in GW. Those that I've chatted with are rather amazed at what they see. Some only have one chapter and can't get over how large the world is. They seem rather layed back types, playing through all the content. Not just racing to the end, and saying 'There's not enough content."

Heh, from that thread it almost seems as though they like GW better than EQ2.

EQ2 blows.
GW ftw!

Onto the matter at hand though... I dont blame them, GW2 sounds like a beast of a game. Could top World Of Warcraft if it wanted to imho

Top in what? Subscription numbers? GW2 will have exactly zero. Income? 1 billion a year is a bit much to hope for, there's countries that earn less than Blizzard. Concurrent numbers? Audition still holds the record for that (10x that of WoW or something like it on first month).

How about GW2 be just an enjoyable game?

It's not all about e-peen and levels. And people who care about biggest whatever will always go to biggest whatever. So they're a very unrepresentative bunch to judge a game by.

Yeah GW2 is definitely something I'm looking forward to getting as soon as it comes out. Sure Anet's disappointed us in the past but overall I'd still go for GW than something like WoW any day.

And I couldn't agree more with this:
Quote:
They really did produce quality over quantity that doesn't attract that "ganker" and "spawn camper" personas. Organized PvP of its degree really set apart the boys from the men and personally I think it left a lot of butthurt self proclaimed "pvpers" going back to WoW.
